A Brave New Day

We have over 30 years combined experience living with HIV, and dealing with the HIV/AIDS epidemic. After living in larger metropolitan areas for numerous years then coming home to Mississippi has proven to be a revelation and therefore has made us more determined to make a difference in the Deep South with/for people living with HIV. We realize that people here are not connected and are either in denial, dealing with stigma, or trust issues with jobs, family, or the government.

During the first phase, we will build a network of Mississippi’s peers: HIV+ people who want to help other HIV+ people, as well as others who care (wellness professionals, crisis experts, counselors, pastors, community members, and family.)

Safe Harbor Family Church served as our fiscal agent while were in the process of obtaining our own 501(c)3 status, which as of May 7, 2009 A BRAVE NEW DAY is it’s own 501(c)3 Non-profit agency. A brave New Day has successfully filed Articles of Incorporation with the Secretary of State of Mississippi.
