Restoration Grace Protest
“Restoration Grace is a conference your family, church, and city need you to attend and the pro–gay activists hope you’ll miss.”
But, we won’t miss it! We’ll be there for a peaceful protest at the entrance of Morrison Heights Baptist Church. Our message: ex-gay therapy is not a safe or realistic form of therapy. In fact, it’s not therapy and has been denounced by every major wing of psychology! It is a dangerous attempt to change the very core of a person that often leaves and individual scarred for life.
It’s important that this protest be peaceful and kind. While we may disagree with their message, we are not organizing this protest to attack others or develop negative feelings.
This is simply an action to let the attendees know we are here: their neighbors; their brothers and sisters; their co-workers. It is an action to let the attendees know we will no longer remain closeted and no longer allow the churches to oppress and traumatize our community.
Signs are encouraged… Please be tactful. Remember, this is a church function and we do not want to be counter-productive.
We will meet on the sidewalk in front of the church from 3pm to 6pm. The Clinton police have been notified and the ACLU will be prepared if there are any challenges to our right to assemble. Please invite everyone you know!
Please join us.
