Unity Mississippi invites you to join us for an hour of reflection and remembrance. The evening will be used to reflect upon HIV/AIDS here & abroad with a candlelight vigil to remember those who have been lost to AIDS and are living with HIV/AIDS.

The turnout for the Rally for Equality was amazing! Counts had attendance for the Jackson rally at approximately 150 people. Hattiesburg had around 50 people. That’s 200+ beautiful Mississippians making their voices heard. Even more amazing was the wonderful turnout of our straight allies! Hundreds of thousands used Saturday to stand up for equality. You could feel the energy all day and it was a wonderful feeling.

An enemy of the gay community exists in our backyard that gave over $500,000 in support of California’s Prop 8.

Same-sex couples exchanged vows Wednesday for the first time in Connecticut amid cheers and tears of joy, while gay activists planned protests across the country over the vote that took away their right to marry in California.

This Saturday, Nov. 15, is a national day of protest against Prop 8, and gays and lesbians across the country will be joined by some famous faces in the fight for equal marriage rights.
