LGBT-specific Substance Abuse Information
Many studies and most research indicates that LGBTs may use illicit drugs more often than heterosexuals. Most likely, this is due to added stress caused by discrimination by family, friends, and society as a whole (including in the workplace). As a community, LGBTs must support each other and encourage healthy lifestyles and decisions as well as from their health care providers.
