Rally for LGBT Equality This Saturday

Rally for LGBT Equality This Saturday

Tuesday, November 4, was a bitter-sweet celebration. We came together to witness the first black man who will become our president, yet watched in sadness as Florida, Arizona, Arkansas, and California all voted down equal rights for all citizens. As Mississippians, we know the feeling. We’ve already had our rights to adopt and marry stripped from us. It’s one of the primary reasons Unity Mississippi formed.

This is not a four state issue! This is an issue of equality across America.

Stand up and make your voice heard. This Saturday, November 15 at 12:30pm at the Mississippi State Capitol, join us and many others and be a part of a nationwide rally and protest for equality. It’s a few hours that promise to impact our community, the state, and the world. We already expect over 100 people. Let’s make it a massive turnout for equality and show our solidarity with the rest of America!

  • Date: Saturday, November 15, 2008
  • Time: 12:30pm – 1:30pm
  • Location:
    MS State Capitol Building
    400 High Street

Visit Join the Impact to learn more about the nationwide rally.

We encourage you to bring signs (remember attacks have less impact than personalized messages about your situation) and join in a part of history. If you have questions, please feel free to call or email.

Please forward this to your lists and everyone you know. It’s not a gay thing… It’s an equality thing!

  1. I had a wonderful time! I could keep talking about the happy, beautiful faces, but I’ll stop before starting. This is a time of hope for Mississippi and the US. Let’s keep pushing for equality!

Thank you Mississippi for giving me hope… Again.
